This is a weird question...

 

I have a Zoom 5654 ADSL Modem/Router, my DSL connection went out yesterday.
Bell South/ATT had an outage

Up until around 2:30 ish. However my connection wouldn't reestablish. After
finally getting tech support on the phone, 

We found that the line was up, so I finally hit the magic reset button (the
little button that you have to push a pin into)and blew out all the settings

 

Lo and behold it worked.

 

So. what causes the brains of this thing to corrupt?
