Yes, it has a hard G.  Now the pronunciation is the American way of 
saying it.
The German way is S, long O, rolled R, and the ge sounds like gay.

Depending on what dictionary you use, it means, care, sorrow, concern.

For instance, No Worries is Kein sorgt.
No worries is nicht sorgen.
