A guy is a big penny-pincher and so drives a Prius that gets 50 MPG.

He inherits a minivan that gets 30 MPG (20 MPG less than his Prius)
and, prior to his wife leaving for a week's vacation, tells her he's
not going to move it from the driveway until someone takes it away.

His wife returns a week later and sees the van on the other side of
the driveway so she asks him if he's been driving the van. The man
replies that, as it turns out, he has. His wife asks about MPG and
the man replies, "I figured out that if I drive it the right way, it's
more economical than my Prius! So, I'm keeping it"

Question: how can the man drive the minivan in such a way as to get
better economy with a 30MPG vehicle than his 50 MPG?
