Coldfusion, is what you want it to be.

CFML - is Coldfusion Markup Language, as an extension to HTML. And is
described as a server side scripting language.

Regardless, of its history in C++/Java by all definitions it is a
Scripting Language.

Visual Basic, is a scripting language by definition. However when do
you not call it as that, when it is compiled? The source is still a
script.
