Believe it or not, *MOST* standard cd-rom's that come with computers
will not read - or write - the CD-G format that karaoke disks use.
When I was into karaoke on the computer a few years back, I went out
and bought an external CD-ROM (a Plextor of some kind) that supported
the CD-G format, and I was able to use that to rip and burn karaoke
CDs.

For backup purposes only, of course.
