As far as taxes go, the only way you get the government totally out of your life would be to eliminate taxes alltogether. Unless you advocate abolishing *ALL* taxes, which I am totally fine with, they are always going to be in your life (in regard to taxes).
Also, you wouldn't *HAVE* to accept the check if you didn't want it.
