HTML AIR apps are actually fairly easy to build from a code perspective-
just use HTML, CSS and Javascript. For me the downside compared to Flex is
the lack of a sophisticated UI. Even good AJAX libraries can't touch Flex
when it comes to user experience, and Flex allows you to use the AMF binary
message protocol with your app to talk to server services using
RemoteObject, which is a lot faster than web services.
