Ok some of my more favorite questions: 1) If you won the lottery what would you do?
2) Name your favorite (interview appropriate) website? Follow-up: what would you do to improve it? (this one you can take in any direction, CF related, CSS related, where you want). 3) If you were taking over a project and had to decide between in line (in code) documentation or well written specs and UML diagrams of the system which would you prefer, why? 4) What does cfapplication do? What does cffeed do? What does cfjms do? What does cfcache do? 5) How do you deal with the whitespace CFML generates? 6) 3 technical books you have read or have a desire to read. 7) Favorite resource for looking up solutions, search engine and wiki's are not valid answers. 8) What is the difference between an Application Server an Web Server? What is a context root? (This may or may not make a lick of difference to most folks but its important to understand the difference at our shop) 9) What is your ideal workspace (physical surrounds and computer setup)? 10) What are Race Conditions, Deadlocking, and link lists? Those alone get me enough information generally. Other general information I collect: Experience with Java, Python, PERL, C family Experience with CustomTags, CFCs, Java integration Thoughts on/familiarity with various frameworks, and I usually throw in a few less popular ones like Tartan or OnTap Ok so now I have given away what I interview on so I expect all applicants at Kroger to do much better now ;) Adam Haskell On Mon, Apr 28, 2008 at 9:04 AM, Paul Ihrig <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > ok have another interview person coming in today at 4pm. > he has no cf exp, which is fine. but does have Java, javascript, XML, > XHTML/CSS, and SQL > > i dont know jack about Java. so what are good things to ask him about his > current skill set > as well as things that can translate into our needs as a cf shop. > > any good stuff to go over would be most helpful > > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;192386516;25150098;k Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:259211 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
