No. Not even close. Well, unless you have an abusive owner/jockey
combination.....but i imagine those are extremely rare.

Probably about the same number who die on the racing circuit.....a small
percentage.

I'm glad I missed it too....that would have pained me to watch. I don't
think there is much validity to the "is horse racing cruel"
question....EXCEPT for one point I heard discussed the other day. Apparently
some breeding practices have resulted in horses that are leaner and faster,
but that may have sacrificed some durability to get there. If there has been
an increase in the number of racing accidents, and I don't think the numbers
show that there has, this could be a legitimate area of concern.
