There's another very good reason to significantly increase educational benefits 
to veterans, it significantly decreases the chances of experiencing PTSD. All 
the studies I looked at were retrospective, so there's that limitation. However 
it would appear that lower education means a higher chance of getting PTSD. 
Increase their educational attainment (ie., make sure that all recruits have 
finished High School at least and possibly started on some further education) 
may help in preventing PTSD in the future.
