I actually use the latest Talisman firmware from Sveasoft on my router... nothing like that. And it makes sense: how do you have BOTH a secure network and a completely insecure portal into it? ;^) > Otherwise make him earn another router, neh? They're pretty cheap > these days. I have a few options: I can get a second router, unsecured. I can connect my cable modem to this router and my secured router to it and all my other devices to the secured router. This will protect my home network from intrusion, but will still allow anybody on the street to steal bandwidth (since the broadband connection is unsecured). It will also, of course, open my personal external traffic up (since any information I send will go through an insecure point). I can get the "Nintendo WiFi USB Adapter" - a little dongle that lets the Wii and DS connect through a host PC. This means that the PC its connected to would have to be up and running whenever he wanted to use the DS on the network. Also, from what I can see online, the device has been essentially orphaned by Nintendo: you can't get support for it and everyplace I've seen selling it is selling it used. I can wean him off of the DS and get him into "Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters" death matches on the PSP. It's fully WiFi compatible, supports WPA (which means it supports my network) and never puts me through this kind of hell. Really only the last option appeals to me at the moment. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;203748912;27390454;j Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:262457 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
