It seems some people, who are ideologically against the HPV vaccination, have been playing up a few deaths from blood clots. Some of you may recall that I have had a blood clot or two... so I have read up on the subject. As the mother of a teenage girl I also have read up on the HPV vaccination. Girls who are doing this are asked to take oral contraceptives if there is any thought they might get pregant, as there is some concern about the of the vaccine effect on unborn babies.
So a few girls taking oral contraceptives, known to represent a risk of blood clots, develop blood clots. So is this an oral contraceptives problem? Noooo its the HPV vaccine. I swear the lack of logic is astounding.
