Basically - yes!  He doesn't have any data correlating who's buying
what, but their own brands are really picking up steam.  The Target
concept cheap-sheik is picking up and at the same time junk food sales
are dropping.

It's only a quarter's worth of data, but one interpretation could be
that people who may have done a lot of specialty store shopping are
just staying with Safeway thus Sushi sales are rising while at the
same time junk food is dropping due to other consumers cutting back.

It looks to be a squeeze happening.
