This is outright strange ... and could have been a disaster instead of just a pain in the neck.
I'm redesigning a site. It's a big site with lots of elements. Tonight I just completed the new look (all the HTML, etc.) for the home page. Broke it down into it's component includes. Then I loaded it up to a server to test. Then I decided that I really didn't need this group of files in one folder, so I moved them to another folder. The files included a filed named index.cfm. The folder everything was being moved to had a blank file called index.cfm. I was asked, are you sure you want to overwright -- yes, I do. Then when I went back to studio I got asked "your file has been modified by another process. Do you want to reload it?" "Yes," I said. And the file opened blank. Some 300 lines -- gone, poof. At this same moment, CFStudio started eating up 100 percent of the processor time. I shut it down. When I restarted it, I that index.cfm file was still blank. So I download the copy from the server, but it opened blank, too. So I renamed it and downloaded it -- opened blank. I browsed to file on the server to confirm that it did indeed have content on it -- it does. But every time I download it, it's blank. I decided I would try restarting the computer. Fortunately, I thought to save the source for my page from the browser window it was open in. I restarted, but that index.cfm page and the version I downloaded and renamed (and tried again) from the server, they still come up blank. Fortunately, the source file opens correctly. I even pasted it into the index.cfm file that keeps coming up blank and it opens fine now. BTW: We're talking CFStuido 5.0 on a Win2k machine.
