I'm a little (probably overly) paranoid about naming the company online, but it's one of the big insurance companies. I've actually been shuffled around quite a bit for the past few years (my groups seem to keep getting hit but I keep finding other groups to attach myself too like some big-ass lamprey). This is the first big, general rounds of layoffs for a long time however. Of course if I had known it was coming I might have selected not to move from Boston and buy a house in Scranton... we went kind of to the wall to buy (we ended up borrowing from my retirement fund and put much more on credit that I normally like) and have only been paying it off for two years. I'd feel a hell of a lot better facing unemployment if I had just a bit more equity.
