At a former job, when I was still a paramedic, a few of us were chatting one night (around election night) and one guy made a point of bragging that he did not vote, never had and never will. A short while later he started complaining about a local elected official. I asked him, 'Didn;t you just tell us you don't vote?' He replied, quite proudly, 'That's right, I chose not to vote.' I then told him, 'Then shut the fuck up, because in my mind, if you don't vote, you give up your right to complain'
