Art Monk is such a polarizing force in the world of HoF voting. There is a large number of people who strongly believe he is not hall worthy. There is an equally large group of people who strongly believe he is hall worthy. A writer, I think from KC, once wrote that you can't convey NFL history without DT but you could tell NFL history without Art Monk because all you would leave out is a lot of 6 yard hook routes.
Personally, I think the voters got it right. He got in, but barely. He owns several of the worst YPC years in the history of the NFL. No Def Co-coordinators ever said, "We got to figure out a way to stop Art or we can't win this game."
