For faxes, I can't recommend myfax.com enough. Almost everything you fax these days is digital, so it makes it real easy to just fax it via an online service. For one off or the occasional paper fax, I just hook my fax machine up to my phone line, send it, then disconnect it.
I use Vonage.com, without any issues. They are reasonably priced.
