You've summed up my personal opinion of it.

It fires from an open bolt. Not good in the terrain we deal in. The way
the open bolt feed system works, you actually have to break a round off of
the belt to go to a ready to fire condition. There are teeth on the front of
the bolt that grab the round, and then you lock the safety. When you come
back in the fob you have to take a long knife or screwdriver and bang on the
(often high explosive anti-personnel) round to clear the weapon.

Driving around like this is dangerous as there have been reports of the bolt
riding forward from slam fire (banging around) conditions. However, the gun
itself is so touchy to small particles of dirt and dust that you don't want
to ride around with the bolt forward for fear that should you take contact
you won't be able to get the bolt to the rear of the gun. This is
additionally problematic with the open bolt design allowing too much access
to the internals of the gun while we're moving if you do have it back.

A fun gun on the range. A decent weapon in the emplaced defense. Not
something that I feel can be relied upon as an offensive weapon on a mobile
platform.
