Primarily for fat loss as I want to get down to single percent which,
for me, is tough especially since I spent the last 3 weeks on the
Jerry diet.

I'm not religious about the anti-carb thing as I think any diet tied
to your exercise will probably work, but I like to stick to things
that have worked for me and/or expand/experiment on them.

That said, there's the concept of 'ketogenic' diets. They're a bit
controversial but here's the 10 second scoop (I'm no expert):

Your body functions by burning oxygen. To fuel that process your body
can use 2 fuel sources: glucose or ketones. There's a slice of
scientists that say the human body evolved to burn ketones but we've
only recently switched to glucose which is what's causing obesity,
diabetes, et al.

Carbs convert easily to glucose and that's what most people use - a
high carb diet to create glucose.

The problem with this diet is that when your body turns carbs to
glucose and burns up what is need for your current activity it needs
to dispose of any extra and it does this by turning it into fat.

Thus if you eat more carbs than you need the rest turns to fat.

In the absence of carbs your body needs another fuel source and that
can be dietary fat - or your fat! Your body can use dietary fat or
your fat to create ketones which it can then burn for energy. The
nice thing about ketones is that if you have extra of those, you
exhale and/or pee them out. (thus you can measure if you're in
ketosis with "ketostix" that you pee on).

When you're in ketosis, and in a calorie deficit, you can be certain
that your body is mobilizing your own fat to make up the difference in
energy needed.

Additionally, because you'll also be getting a high percentage of
protein (via cream-sicle shakes) your body won't catabolize muscle.

In other words ...

Get lean, GET RIPPED!

I can post more about the "targeted ketogenic diets (TKD)" and
"cyclical ketogenic diets (CKD)" if you care or you can read Lyle
McDonald or Dr. Mario DiPasquale
