I find it interesting that Obama didn't really start a public push
until just a couple of days ago. He presented a basic plan to Congress
but didn't do a hard sell and instead let them do all their own
infighting. I wondered about the wisdom of that approach and wondered
why he seemed kind of removed on such an important bill. Given the
timing of his push to the public, it's looking now like he was waiting
to exert his influence in the joint conference to reconcile the two
bills. I'll be curious to see how he tries to push his weight around
in the reconciliation and what comes out of it.
