That's what drives me to depression (really). We can't. We can't persuade the UN to do anything about these other conflicts. We can't go in ourselves. We can't really do anything. Basically, we're useless to help others.
If there was a massive public outcry about them then it would be one thing but there isn't. How many times have these conflicts been the BBC's main story? How many times have the media outlets moved to elicit public sympathy and outrage to stop these conflicts. The American government can't do anything about it alone but if all of Europe was outraged and wanted to get it fixed then there would be more 'weight' to fix the problem. But again, the problem is how. Even with Europe with us, we'll be blocked by China and Russia in the security council and by so many others in the general assembly. "hey, want to make the world better? Nah, we just want to block the US from doing anything" - Russia "hey, want to save lives in Africa? Nah, we have our own interests in Africa" - China On Tue, Mar 3, 2009 at 3:46 PM, Rastafari <rastaf...@gmail.com> wrote: > > but how can we REALISTICALLY go do more shit when we are effed up to > the hilt here? > how can we afford this? > > how also can we afford more anti-us stuff when we go muck around in > those countries? > we get slandered, we get irritated locals who think we are taking > over, etc etc etc... > > > > On Tue, Mar 3, 2009 at 3:39 PM, Michael Dinowitz > <mdino...@houseoffusion.com> wrote: > > > > How many jihad supporters from Somalia have come to this country?
