Entertainers have influence in the area of public opinion. Look at Jon
Stewart and Rush Limbaugh. When opinion makers are attacking the White
House the White House tends to comment. That is true in every
administration.

As for Kramer being right or wrong, I think he's wrong and so do a lot
of other people. But I don't think that anyone can be certain right
now, maybe he's right. By and large I find Kramer's approaches to be
far from thoughtful and I do prefer a more thoughtful approach. He's
bombastic and he gets ratings, which is great. I think that his
schtick in that article about being the defender of the little people,
the common investor, is a load of self aggrandizing crap, which leads
me to dismiss most of the rest of his theories. But the stimulus
package and new budget plans are by no means sure things. Plenty of
room for criticism on all sides.
