Once upon a time, before the war powers act, and when income (wage based)
taxes were voluntary I could see his point.  Now though?

Just looks like legal extortion to me.

Would you consider not stealing a service to your country?  Would you
consider not speeding a service to your country?

People pay taxes because it is the law, not becks they want to or because
they feel a need to do 'service' for their country.  They do it (well, most
of us) because, by law, we are required to.  If you gave every one the
option of paying taxes and not suffering and legal or financial penalties,
how many do you think would continue to do so or do so at the same tax rate?

Sorry, I do not consider obeying the law as 'service to your country'. I
think it belittles the REAL service those in the military, emergency
services, etc are doing for their country.
