Dude, do you think some pilgrims just washed ashore and a whole legal
infrastructure was built?

Someone had to create the framework, write the laws, design the
enforcement mechanism, write the business model etc, etc.

So is your question do I think writing the Dec of Ind service to
country?  Yes.  Do I think writing the Constitution was service to
country?  Yes. et al

And thus anything that's work to support that framework, those laws,
and uphold them is service.

And taxes is the revenue model that's part of the framework.  Without
them the framework dies.

So paying taxes is service.
