I use the Jabra BT2010. Best one I have used so far! You can get the USB cable to charge (does not come with the headseat).
You can mute the phone call from the headset. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Davis [mailto:hofli...@depressedpress.com] Sent: Saturday, March 21, 2009 10:04 PM To: cf-community Subject: Recommendations for Bluetooth Headsets? I recently got a Bluetooth-enabled phone for the first time and am in the market for a headset. I've tried a few and haven't found any that I really like. I've been using my PS3 headset which actually works very well but has some problems. For one thing it's quite large (about twice the size of many phone headsets). It's also designed more to rest "near" your ear rather than be inserted - making it very nice for long, stationary gaming sessions but loose-feeling when you're walking around. Finally it's a big pain-in-the-ass to constantly pair-and-unpair it from the two devices. Still, it's the best one I've used so far. Some of the things that I LOVE about it that I'm having trouble finding in dedicated phone headsets: +) I really, really want a "mute" button. Most of my time is spent on conference calls: I speak irregularly and want (need!) to be muted between. My phone has a mute and that works, but when driving it's a real pain-in-the-ass to deal with. I tried one that had a mute function but you had to press both volume buttons at once to activate it and those buttons were nearly impossible to do that with. Mute is a must and it must be easy to enable/disable with one hand while wearing the device. An auditory cue as to mute status would be great (the PS3 headset has a quiet "beep" every few seconds when on mute). +) Chargeable via USB. I thought was simply standard, but many of those I looked at either didn't offer it or weren't at all clear about what they did do. The PS3 headset comes with an attractive charging stand - I like that. In addition my phone supports Bluetooth audio (stereo audio). If possible I'd like to get a headset that supports that profile as well as the standard "hands free" profile. Not for music but for podcasts and other "talk radio" programming. Finally I want something that's pretty sturdy... I'm not going to use this all the time so it's going to spend a lot of time in pockets and bags. I want something that's going to stand up to that and no make mistakes (unintentional button presses, etc). It would also be very nice if it were cheap too. ;^) Any ideas? Any thoughts about features/requirements I missed?
