I think I've always done this, without even knowing it had a name.  I
work a while, then rest or sleep for a few hours, then wake up and
work some more.  When I have to work more than about 4 or 5 contiguous
hours, I get really fried. I also feel crappy if I sleep more than
about 5 hours.

In my case, I suspect my bizarre wake/sleep cycle is because I was a
child performer, and at a very early age, I was only sleeping 4-5
hours a night between gigs and school.
