> [If you don't like] paying your fair share Those four words drive me crazy. How do you define what someone's "fair share" is? Is it based on a person's income or their usage of services?
How about we make our publicly elected officials actually be good stewards of the money we give them? Some time back I had the idea that we make every elected official earn no salary but make up a budget and have to account for every penny they spend. Make them run their offices like businesses. Sure, they'd have to requisition their budget from the federal treasury but there would be an accounting and a paper trail. And so far as dissent, it's amazing that I'm going to quote Hillary Clinton here but I'll use one here: "I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration. We are Americans, We have the right to participate and debate any administration." As penance for using that quote, I'll add this one: "To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. - Thomas Jefferson" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:295006 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
