We had a magnetizer thing that when the drive was demagnetized the drive
would no longer work when we got done, just heard clicks of the motor trying
to turn that platter. No was was able to make them work before they went to
recycling..  Software was run first that low levels the drive with 0's and
1's and then demagnetized..

I have a buddy that did some government work where they required that the
drive platter be reduced to dust.
