We got an automated call the other day from my daughters Yeshiva telling us
that if we have boys in certain Yeshivas then we should not send her to
school. Basically, 3 Yeshivas have closed due to swine flu and there's a
concern from the others. Because Yeshivas are single gender, a girl will be
at one and a boy at another. Another girl may have a brother at a different
one than the first. If one Yeshiva gets the flu, the chance of it traveling
to another is high.
There are times when having a close nit community can be a problem.
