Well, I'll make 3 points: (1.) I majored in math and engineering and if there's one thing I learned it's that numbers ARE words. Math is simply a language to describe physical phenomena. (2.) Physics tells us that below a Planck length (1.62 x 10-35, a number there for ya) there is only a probability that we exist. (3.) That union dude's income - the number - is dependent on WORDS, i.e., how you define income. For example, if he flies his kid to New York in a private jet to see the Yankees game and expenses the whole thing is that income? Put simply that guy no more knows his yearly income than you or I thus only an estimate is possible. Humans can be forgiven for wanting to comfort our anxieties by thinking there's a universal truth like numbers or God - the need probably stems from our earliest causal realization - but that doesn't mean that our comforts exist. In fact, science can neither prove God nor numbers. Science says that there's only an ever varying probability that we're actually having this conversation. Not that I've ever thought about any of this for more than 10 milliseconds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
