That's really strange. I use DS and I just talk to it like it was a person. I've even named it, and I have a macro that turns it on when I call it by name. My goal is to able to talk to my computers like the humans talked to Dora and Minerva in the Heinlein novels. It's becoming necessary because every day I lose more of the use of my arms. The right one is very nearly dead.
BTW, I'm using DS to type this message. I had to spell Heinlein and Minerva, and manually delete the extra stuff at the bottom of the message but otherwise it works great.
