The other night I was ordering an antenna from buy.com. Nowadays I
always try to pay with paypal just so I won't have to give my credit
card # out to any site. So when I went to check out, I clicked the
pay with paypal. It forwarded me onto the paypal site where I logged
in and gave me a "continue" button. I clicked the "continue" button
where it put me back to the buy.com site where I was presented with
the button that said "complete this transaction"...After I clicked
that, it had me sign into paypal where I got a continue button that
sent me back to buy.com with the "complete this transaction" button.

I did this three times and never received a confirmation of the
order. I logged into paypal and paypal showed no indications of an
order. No emails in my inbox either. So I punted and put in my Amex
number. 30 seconds later I get 4 order confirmation emails! bah! So
I go to buy.com support option...which is an email deal and ask them
to cancel all of the paypal orders and I provide them the order # and
explain the situation that happened.

The next day I get an email from them saying the noticed that paypal
had a problem and caused my order to go through multiple times. They
said they were going to cancel all but the first paypal order. I
emailed back asking them to cancel all the paypal order #'s and
explaining once again that I got the order to go through with my AMEX
card.

This morning I got 4 emails from buy.com giving me tracking numbers of
4 different shipments of the same item :)

I got 2 emails later on telling me that the orders couldn't be
cancelled because they were already in the shipping phase.

Hopefully I'll be able to intercept the UPS guy so I can refuse
delivery on 3 of the 4.

All this to save $15 bucks over buying it at Fry's.

The upside of this is that even with the "Budget" free shipping option
and the packages scheduled to arrive on Monday, from order to receipt
should be 5 days including the weekend.
