You're probably closer to the truth than you think. Georgia has an extremely long list of strange people who have been elected to Congress.. Newt, Bob Barr, Cynthia McKinney, Hank Johnson, Larry McDonald, Pat Swindall (imagine actually voting for politician named Swindall), Ben Jones (formerly Cooter in Dukes of Hazard)...it just goes on and on. They've elected some colorful governors too..like Lester Maddox.
