I'm amazed people aren't up in arms over this. Ummm, due process? Trial of your peers? Innocent until proven guilty?
I'd rather they at least had a trial for him in absentia with a good defense team, and then sign the order. -----Original Message----- From: Judah McAuley [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, April 08, 2010 12:30 AM To: cf-community Subject: Obama approves assassination of American citizen Seems that Obama has approved an order to allow a radical cleric in Yemen, who happens to be a US citizen, be the subject of a targeted killing. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/07/world/middleeast/07yemen.html?partner=rss& emc=rss Certainly a ballsy move, though if what has been said about this particular guy is true, it seems like the order would naturally follow given what else the admin has done. Amazing to think that there have been more CIA missile strikes in Obama's first year in office than in the last 3 years of Bush's tenure combined. I'm not entirely sure that the people we are involving ourselves with in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen (to name a few) are entirely the wisest choice but I'm astounded that people can actually think that the Obama admin is "soft on terror".
