It didn't do a conversion for me. What I did is create a new project, and said to output in CF.
I then created a new project in ASP. I then created some standard CF forms/table/db hits, etc (a simple fuse package for an editing/display system) in the CF project I then created exactly the same forms and pages in the ASP project, and looked at how ASP handled the same sort of elements (db connections, variable instances, arrays...) I then looked at the ASP code, and read it. Where I couldn't quite understand, I went back to the CF version, and read the CF code, and was then able to understand what the ASP code was DOING, and what the syntax was in ASP to do that thing. It wasn't magic, but it got me pretty far along pretty fast.
