I don't have control over the XML document. It is the output of a tool I am using. I am just trying to output the data in the XML in a pleasing and desireable format. Everything I have read about the XML and XSLT standards says that the line breaks should not be messed with. But so far, of all the tools that I have tried to actually implement the transformation, Firefox, Opera, IE, MindFusion XML Viewer, and ColdFusion.
