I probably know the answer to this, but the brain has so many things
swirling around in it I feel like Kelly Bundy today.

PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT a Mac user. I have a PC. All your Mac solutions keep
to yourself, thank you. One day I will get a MBP, but it isn't today.

My wish and want. Very long. Prepare yourselves.

I have a local folder (MyDocs) on my laptop, where I save all my data in a
very organized multi-level folder manner. And I mean everything digital that
I use to run my empire. (muwhahahaaaaaaaa....)

Anyway. I back this up thrice. Once to another desktop in the office. Once
to an external Western Digital external. Once to a FreeAgent external. Yeah
I'm a freak, whatever. AND I have two online backup services for the really
important stuff. Carbonite and Mozy.

***That all said an covered, so ya'll know I'm not talking about a backup
service...***

For collaboration, I use Basecamp. Easy to use. Great plugins. 3rd party
apps, iphone apps, etc. LOVE it. I have storage there so customers can share
files, we keep a paper trail of requests. Files are always there in case we
need to go back and get an original, etc.

***That said an covered, so ya'll know I'm not talking about a project
management service.***

Ya'll still with me? Have I been explicit enough so far? :)

What I would like is to no longer save my files for everyday work, locally.
If I have a team of people I work with, remotely, I want to have all my
files up in the cloud, but I want to access them just like I would now.
Through Windows Explorer. A mapped network drive is fine as well. This way,
me, my team, contractors, hubby, we can all access ONE SPOT for files we
need every day. Open them locally. Do what we need, put them back.

I know this is not a unique experience. :) But like I said - Kelly Bundy.
The thoughts are falling out of my head.

My internet connection at the house is NOT reliable. I am not putting a T1
line in either, so storing them on a dedicated box, at home, no good. So
don't go there.

THE BIG QUESTION!!!!

Are there any services online, in the cloud, that can be my "folder" for my
everyday data storage? Secure. Encrypted. With permissions so I can give
other people access to those same folders.

I thought I could use one of my servers in my datacenter, with a secondary
harddrive, and map that ... that's always up. 99.8% of the time.

Would that be my easiest, cheapest, already in place, solution? If so - what
software do I need to keep the files synced?

Is there something better I'm not quite seeing clearly?

If you have read all this --- I thank you profusely. :) And with muffins...

/me puts plate of fresh baked steaming Blueberry Cinnamon whole grain
muffins with crumbly topping on the table.
