I have only a laptop at work. But i have it attached to a big monitor
and a keyboard. The only time I ever use it "as a laptop" is when I
have to drag it to a meeting (rare) or when I go on trips. I abhor
laptop keyboards. Even my laptop, which is 17" wide, has a tiny
little laptop keyboard. I can't type on it.

At home, I have a strong preference for sitting at my desk and using
the computer. My wife and daughter have laptops that float around the
house but I don't like computing while at a coach. While I wouldn't
mind having something like an ipad for reading email and basic web
surfing while away from my desk, I can't see myself ever really using
a laptop for that kind of thing. Even if I did end up with a laptop,
it'd be chained to my desk, just like the one at work.
