We have positions like that for judiciary out here. I also voted no on all them unless I knew the candidate.
I'm a vote by mail voter so I can plenty of time to mark my ballot, and I did a lot of research in the other races before I voted, but I just couldn't muster enough interest in the judges to bother - there was at least 50 of them.
