We probably wouldn't spend much less not doing it. How much do two
turkeys cost? The President will be doing something then, isn't like
he's off the clock. Of all the stupid crap that the government does,
this would seem pretty low on the outrage list to me. Mostly they just
do it because it is a tradition, something like 60 years or so. People
like it when their Leader participates in spectacles that have
something to do with their own lives. We could probably save a couple
thousand dollars not putting up Christmas lights around the White
House either, but people would bitch about us abandoning Christianity.
