Well as much as it hurts me to say it, we've decided to let our original dev
complete the job. After a serious tongue lashing he's agreed to work
in-house where I can keep an eye on him and manage his progress.

Ultimately it came down to the learning curve a new dev would face getting
familiar with the project and the looming deadline. I would've preferred to
cut him loose and let him learn a lesson, but that's not what's best for the
client, and that's my primary concern.

Thanks to all who offered their services. If anything comes opens up in the
future I'll certainly consider you for it.
