The first book was great. The second book was mediocre.
The third book was better than the second, but not as good as the first. If you're going on vacation, grab the first one. A perfect sitting-by-the pool book to read. I have seen the import movie (via netflix streaming). It was decent considering how hard it would be to cram a long book into a 2 hour movie).
