I was about 13/14 I guess when the early 80's heat wave hit... It was freaking hot! We lived in North Brighton Townhouses and the tar/gravel flat roofs melted so bad that they had to re-do all the roofs the next year. Everyone had leaks come winter... You could look at the tops of the roofs and they were rippled like a pond wave...
