I guess if you knew something ugly was coming, you could push your
allocation into safe zones for awhile...and then if you knew things were
about to get roaring again, move it back into aggressive territory. But you
are riding it out for years and years anyway, so 20 years from now, in 2031,
when the averages are (hopefully) much higher than the 10 or 11 they are
hovering around now....how the market looked and what happened during a few
days in 2011, won't really matter much.
