I used Pine... My first internet connection was through a company called SkyNet.net ... Yep! That's what I said, but they never became self aware... I think they are long gone now.
I used a winsock dialer to connect to the network and a telnet application to connect to a BBS, chat with other Skynet users, and play MUD's. Then Netscape 1 came out and I hated it... followed by 2 with pictures and Animated gifs...lots and lots of animated gifs!
