I am not sure why I was notified but the New Mexico State Police apparently closed I-25 to non-local traffic a little north of Santa Fe. The next town up the road is "full" and cannot accept more traffic. I can only think that there's bad weather in Raton Pass, but that's at least fifty miles up the road and it's still an awesome image. It's not just that there are no *rooms* available. The *town* is full. A town of oh.... 25,000? Is full. It's not a friendly place, either. Wow :) Say I smugly.... in California. just sharing a "so glad I am not there" moment.
