I had one of my co-workers forward the following message to me
yesterday (edited to protect the innocent):

"FYI, here's how your from address looks to your customers. I'm sure
I've accidently deleted some of the email from you because the company
doesn't appear in the from field due to your Exchange Server settings.
It would be better if you were set to display as "Jane Doe
j...@yourcompany.com" or something that identifies your company for
the people from your company that I don't recognize."

My gut reaction is that this guy is either paranoid or just trying to
pawn off a delayed response to our emails on this excuse. I'm not
sure that there is a "standard" for formatting the "from" section of
an email address.

Has anyone run into this before? How do you address something like
this (aside from the, "geez, what a joick," that went through my
head)?

Until Later!

No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large
number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
