Etta James passed away today. It wasn't unexpected as she'd had failing health for awhile. Still sucks though. She had a Aretha-type voice that was an amazing physical presence that just shakes right through you, even late in life. But what I'll really miss about her is her personality and stage presence. That gal was flat out *filthy*. Just having an awesome time, bumping and grinding up on stage, in her 70s. Gave it her all, teased the crowd, and just had a raucous good time doing what she loved.
Anyway, if you're in the mood for some soul today, give Etta a listen. And if you can do it with a smoldering sexy someone special, all the better.
