There was no "strife". It is a beautiful place and far removed from the old days of "The Troubles". I even stayed at the Europa. :) It's a thriving business mecca these days.
There may be pockets of crap that go on here and there, but I have a good friend that lives just outside Belfast in one of the suburbs, and he says it's pretty much all good these days.
